Why Parents for Peace?

Parenting is one of the most powerful and tender responsibilities we can take on. It asks everything of us—our time, our energy, our patience, and our presence. In a world that feels increasingly fast-paced, uncertain, and divided, it’s easy to lose touch with the still, peaceful center within us. Yet this inner peace is precisely what helps us show up with love, presence, and resilience for our children, our families, and our broader community.

Parents for Peace is a space to return to that center.

It’s a monthly gathering where parents of all backgrounds and experience levels come together to:

  • Calm the nervous system through simple guided meditation practice

  • Reconnect with the heart through compassion-based practices and shared presence

  • Offer peace to the world through loving-kindness (metta) meditation, extending care to regions experiencing suffering and violence—including places like Gaza and other war-torn areas

  • Build a community rooted in shared values of peace, kindness, and mindful parenting

  • Model peace for future generations—not just in our words, but in our way of being

This is not about being perfect parents. It’s about being present ones.

By practicing together even amidst the beautiful chaos of everyday life and the horrors we see in the world —we strengthen our collective intention to raise children in homes where love leads, where listening matters, and where conflict gives way to compassion.

No prior meditation experience is needed. Babies, toddlers, and interruptions are welcome. This is not another task on your to-do list—it’s a gift to yourself, your family and the world. There is not commitment needed - you can come and go as much as you need.

Join us in planting seeds of peace and learning together.

Because parenting is tender work.
Because the world needs peace.
Because it starts with us.
